The first promo we released was a bit buggy and refuses to work correctly in DOS2 (which is stated at bombaman.net already).
The .dsk-version of the Bombaman promo #2 works perfectly fine in blueMSX and openMSX. It autoboots from disk and doesn't need DOS1/2 files.
If you make your own diskimages with DiskManager, you have to make sure each file has the archive attribute set (as mars2000you said). Otherwise, files aren't loaded correctly (it's not a Bombaman specific problem though, it happens with all LZH files which contents are put onto a diskimage without setting the archive attribute first).

Where can I get promo 2? I downloaded Bombaman v1.1 off of bombaman.net, which included a readme, two lib files and a com file. Is that correct? How do I get that to autoboot?

The archive attribute was already set, but I decided to unlzh the files, and zip them then re-extract them as per instructions.
Still not getting past the "presents" screen. I was just curious to see what these guys had done a) with the msx and b) with bomberman (one of my old fave games)

Superbio
Thankyou kind sir. Problem solved.
The 1.1 download I got did not say update, and therefore I assumed that it was the demo. Surprised that the demo was not available from the bombaman site itself.

the demo is also available on bombaman.net, in the downloads section. I have to admit the way that section works is not optimal. Anyways, I hope you enjoy the promo and buy the full game |

Woei there! A couldn't resist to post something here. Maybe because I have to say that the promos are a very poor and tiny glance of what Bombaman really is, a game full of worked levels, music, areas, story, even RPG stuff. Those promos were only a 'test-thing' and only the gameplay engine master lines can be guest. Moreover, I personally dislike the final result of the second promo, a pity that the second one is better coded but worse built talking about gameplay.
I hope you can smell something good behind those promos Wibbly, and encourage you to buy a mega long (and fun they say) game
Greets! |
