OK, all of us like MSX games. But in spite of the PC lack of simplicity in most games, there are still PC games that feel and play like MSX games... Let's post in here name of PC games that have an MSX-like feeling, OK?
My favorites are:
Icy Tower - Simple and addictive. Reminds me of Magical Tree.
Cho Ren Sha - Deliciously playable shoot'em up. A dream coming true.
Phobia III - Control a small soldier killing thousands (literally) of simultaneous on-screen enemies.
All these are freewares. Anyone has more tips? I want to play something new!  |

I prefer games that aren't 3d.. Ever since the invention of the 3d engines, I felt the distance between 3d games and non-3d games became bigger and bigger, almost to a point where you would be considered 'stupid' to play the old games/genres.
I'm not against 3d perse, but I'm bored by the 1st-person pov and the lifeless textures.
I did like Diablo2 for that, fixed birdview pov and non-blurry texturemaps (it wasn't really 3d). |

It's an oldie, but in my mind I still refer to 'Raptor, Call of the Shadows' by iD software (Doom) as 'Aleste III' From the same epoch is 'Tyrian', another MSX-like shooter. |

Raptor is not an Id Software game. It was made by Cygnus Software and distributed by Apogee. And it's quite similar to an old and nice arcade game called Raiden. |

Well, there is a nice plataformer named "Claw". It is a CD game, have nice music and graphics. The only problem is that it is a bit easy.
Raptor was indeed a very cool shooter.
I just remembered the old Duke Nukem games. They are called Duke Nukum and Duke Nukum 2. The 2nd version is a very very very nice plataformer. the 1st one is nice but is not state of art.

Hmm some of you might know Warblade, a Galaga like game.
Only difference is: more animations, more effects, and more CPU power needed.
But also veeeery addictive, kept me busy quite a long time 
Unfortunately now there's a trial and a full version. (USD $20) |

Oh, yes... There's also "N", a nice plataform game made in Flash. Reminds kind of Laptick 2. |
