Martos has released a disk adaption of Chase HQ that runs in R800 mode. The Speccy version is not the fastest version anymore!!!

To run it at 3,5 Mhz load the game under MSX-DOS.
To run the game at 28,6 Mhz load it under MSX-DOS2.

In my humble opinion the perfect speed would be 6 MHz (only possible with the Z80B of Panasonic MSX2+ machines). 3,5 MHz is a bit slow and 28,6 Mhz is too fast.

You can find this new adaption in the download area of HispaMSX. I don't know if Martos has uploaded the latest version (the previous one had problems to load next stages).

28,6MHz? The R800 runs at 7,16MHz.

But... the R800 processes its instructions in less T-cycles than the Z80, making it approximately 4x faster, compared to a Z80 at the same clockspeed. So, one would need a Z80 @ 28MHz, to keep up with the R800 @ 7,16MHz.

According to Martos going to MSX-BASIC, executing OUT64,8UT65,0 and returning to DOS with _SYSTEM should do the trick.

OUT64,8 : OUT65,0

Just played the game in Z80B mode (6 MHz). Perfect!!!
