Andre van Herk and Tobias Keizer ([D-Tail] and Sonic_aka_T) have recently joined the MRC admin team (couple of weeks ago, actually), but as we're expecting some Russian translators and I'm generally lazy in updates like these they have not been added to the correct section of the Who we Are as of yet. You could have noticed by their pennie icons in the MRC forums, however
About the April fools joke: Nowadays some people always like to assume the worst when things concern MRC. It wouldn't harm to approach the MRC in a bit more positive, less conspiracy-theory state of mind every now and then. We thought we'd point that out by letting people believe IGN had acquired us. Many people completely bought it (I won't reveal your names, guyz!), instantly assuming we'd sell the MRC to a party like IGN as soon as we'd get the chance to do so.
But, what these people consistantly forget is that the MRC is not a professional institute, it's a hobbyist website created and maintained by a group of people who maintain a website about MSX because that is where their heart lies. No matter how many visitors there are, no matter how much news there is, no matter how much money we gain or lose in the process: this is what we intend to keep doing in the future because we love doing it. I know it's sometimes tempting to think there's a lot more behind it, that the MRC admin team is not mentally stable enough to keep Bazix and MRC separated (something we can only 'prove' in time), but I think that the people who like spreading such 'fud' have more to hide than we do, whilst not giving MRC the credit I think we deserved by now.
Because the website is rather big, and we would like to preserve the contents of our website for the long future to come, we have become a foundation. Added to that, there are a few simple rules we ask our team members and our visitors to live by, just to keep our website out of legal trouble. Just as mth already stated: common sense is the key measure in here.
Common sense in this case would have meant: "MRC posts about MSX emulators containing sysroms, so I probably can post about those in the MRC forums as well.". In case of doubt, you could have asked here on the forums, by e-mail or ICQ. Heck, I'm even quite sure you've got my phone numbers. Instead, you instantly assumed the worst, expressed those unfounded feelings in our forums (the initial message a bit stronger than the edited one) and with that at least gave the impression you'd like to drag the MRC through the mud. I don't think we deserved this. Just be glad we take the forum policies -less- strict than you expected.
