I downloaded a rather large (and probably well known) pt3 archive, but it also contains some other formats (like .PSC) which not seem to be able with at least the PT3 player I'm using on my MSX. Is there support for those other formats on the msx with a different program?
Thx

I don't know the .psc format, but I know there is a MSXPlug for Winamp that i supposed to play every MSX format. Search the MRC for MSXPlug. Maybe, if this plugin play your file you can get the info that you want.

The .PSC format is that of the ZX Spectrum program Pro Sound Creator. You can find the sources (disassembly) of the original replayer here. I glanced over it quickly, but from what I saw if shouldn't be too hard to 'convert' this to MSX. Couldn't find any info on the format itself tho... If you just want to check the tunes out (to see if it's worth the hassle) you can also download a couple of PC players for the various formats there. |

You can use Vortex Tracker II to convert PSC files to PT3. It can convert also PT1, PT2, STC, STP, SQT, ASC, FLS, GTR, FTC, FXM and AY files.

Of course being able to play those files directly on MSX would add quite a lot of cool-factor to it |

NYYRIKKI is right. It's not worth it. I have just converted the file BUZZ16_1.psc to pt3 format and I got half the size! |

They should sound the same.
About the second quetion ... you have to create your own songs or ask someone to do it for you. You can always listen to all the created PT3 songs but you shouldn't use them in your programs.
Have a look here at demotopia www.zxdemo.org/
