Right... euhm.. I'm quite a bit confused. I know
Twinkle Star
as an MSX Magazine/Takeru game. Suddenly, I see this.

Is there any relation between these two titles, apart from the name (so I can make an MSX-related newspost about it ;P), or is this just a stroke of luck?

A stroke of luck. Didn't I already tell you?

The deal is: I won't have to hunt down the original AES or MVS version of Twinkle Star Sprites and pay through my nose but I can buy the game for PS2! .

FYI: Twinkle Star Sprites (c) ADK, released in Japan for the Neo Geo MVS in 1996, released for the Neo Geo AES on January 31 1997.

And, as Rieks already tried to make clear to me: Twinkle Star Sprites (c) ADK, 1996 has absolutely completely totally nothing to do with Twinke Star (c) 1990, MSX Magazine?

Well I never heard of 'your' Twinkle Star - I only know TSS by ADK. Do you know how that game by MSX Magazine plays?

If the gameplaymechanics are the same then IMHO TSS could be either:

- new version of the same
- best ripoff I've ever seen

So I'll need to know how the MSX game plays to give you more definite answeres on this one.

Nop, I know little more than the info Generation MSX gives over here... The MSX2+ game seems to be an ordinary shooting game. The ADK version combines shoot'em-up with puzzle elements, right? So there probably is no link other than the name of the game... which could be nothing more than a bit of coincidence... I think....

Sprites or spirits?

At least the Twinkle Star I know looks a whole lot different than those screenshots.

Twinkle Star Sprites (by ADK, in case you fear of getting confused ) is indeed a shoot'em-up with puzzle elements.

Actually, the first thing that came into my mind when first reading this topic was: 'don't worry, those are different, unrelated games' .
