Was looking for some msx pictures and saw the f900 from sony.
Now what sort of a thing is that? is that separate box a sort of video capture thingy?
What can you do with it? any info? Same as the 8280 or....

So, you can say that the Sony machines are more professionnal than the Philips NMS 8280 and they take also more place (2 units !)

thanx B but, I saw it has 3 dials for red green and blue...is that for adjusting the incoming signal? was the HBI a popular machine? I saw separate RGB composite inputs on the back..funny...
must have been quite expensive compared to the 8280,seeing the separate component |

Afaik the Sony was the more 'professional' digitization computer, as opposed to the more 'personal' (domestic, if you like) 8280.

The price of the HB-G900P was around 4000 Dutch guilders, in the late eighties, as far as I have seen in the MSX-Info magazine. And I'm not sure if that was including the Videotizer. This was meant for the professional market.

yeah it seems so,when you use separate BNC inputs at the back...Separate RGB,you don't see that anymore nowadays...what about digitizing on a 2+ or turbo r? were there 2+ es or turbo r's with bult in video digitizers or did they use separatye hardware for it?

For digitizing on screen 12, Sony had released the HBI-V1 cartridge.
