I think I can safely say that the rating system won't return also. We've had it in the past, but people voted again and again on their own sites. Besides, those sites with no or low ratings will surely no longer be visited afterwards. What would we accomplish with that?

Thank you, Bart, just for taking a little time to think about it. I assume that the banner feature would take some efforts to implement but the important here is that we do not want to dictate anything, selios just asked for that feature, that's all. And that random link block has been a practical and creative option!. Thanks for letting us know that the MRC check the feels of the community before acting , because sander words had seriously worried me.

As Sander stated already he spoke for himself. No decision, not one, not even a tiny one, is made at least without prior consent of the other admins (seven already nowadays)... Btw, we have a forum called "MSX Resource Center" which is especially there to discuss anything related to the MRC. So if you like to propose features or something like that, please feel free to open up a topic in that forum!

I believe you - and you do the difficult part to find and share most of the MSX news to the community. Same on my side for The MSX Games bOX, I could almost say that NO news is spontaneously submitted to me (that would be oh so nice and easier for me)... it takes indeed time to watch all msx community sites, have a daily look at the e.g. HispaMSX, MSX Italia mailing lists, screen the information, find more about it and maybe report on it...

And let me finish here for today - rather than proposing to have rotating button on the MRC to promote other MSX sites (anyway there is already a good Links section) - it would be better to form a kind of network between webmasters of active MSX websites who would inform each other of any news they publish and that might be of interest to their fellow counterparts... that could be helpful... a mailing list between webmasters to share news or just to ask for coverage etc... hasn't to be animated but a simple and useful mean to share news and to have that news straight by e-mail rather than to have to look for it on 283 different websites...

The MRC is trying to be the website where you can find all this news and announcements for several years now, but of course we rely on the contributions of our visitors. Although we do manage to spot lots of news ourselves, if you don't let us know about your news (or news you know about), chances are the MRC won't report about it. Of course everyone is free to base contents of their website or magazine on the newsposts (or other contents) of the MRC, only one on one copy/pastes or translations aren't really appreciated

You're in a good mood today Snout I'd like to rephrase May I? Ah what the heck... You're not giving yourself enough credz. Note this: a -really small- percentage of the news on MRC is submitted by you, the MSX community. Most is spotted by Snout while he checks many, many MSX websites daily. Furthermore, copying content from MRC one on one (without mention source) is not just "not appreciated" it's even prohibited according our policies

I'm not complaining about anything (though you should submit more!), but whilst we're talking about credz and appreciation I'd thought Snout could use a feather or two in his arse aswell
