My best bet is that those are there to hold additional sample RAM, but since I never bother to open up any of my hardware unless I can do a upgrade/modification/repair myself I cannot tell for sure |

| if you know a cheaper one with the same specs, that works on msx, in a nice cart.case .. just let us know..
|
About the specs, maybe you can explain what is so special about Moonsound? I mean, what is the difference with other sound enhancements like SCC, FM-PAC or MSX Audio? |

uh..
the difference with fmpac/musmod/scc?
24 wave channels
18 FM channels with 8 waveforms per operator (or less fm channels, in case of 4op FM)
2 mb waverom... nothing too fancy tho
sram for own stuff..
and *yes* .. it makes a difference!
And yes, these specs are -compared with stuff on PC- nothing shocking at all, but sofar it's the best you can get on MSX..

And has it's own 'clear' sound output.. has it's own oscillator so never distorted sound

it seems msd likes to promote things he didn't make, just because he did some stuff on the tracker that's delivered with it |

Well.. no distortion when different bus speeds are used |

But no tracker or replayer (yet) that supports all that to the full extend. |

Well, when I think about it... Quite often people ask me why I own almost 150 homecomputers. To be honest, I don't have a very good answer for that.
Maybe it's for the same reason that people spend an awfull lot of money on a Moonsound, GFX9000 or even a One Chip MSX. |

I already bought for my Moonsound years ago (1998 orso), so all this talk about how affordable a Moonsound is... Heh, do you know how much I earned back then (I saved some money and got the rest for my birthday), and how much I earn now? ^_^
