Sure it's an MSX game. It's Kings Valley 2:

And it is one of the best MSX games and the last Konami game for MSX1.

The screenshots are from the MSX2 version. There are two versions, both with SCC sound and maybe the same stages (I only have concluded the MSX1 version). I think the only important difference is the graphics.

The game is wonderful, amazing, an astonishing piece of code, graphics and sound.

It's not the last Konami title for MSX1... Nemesis 3 deserves that honour

Wondeful game dudes! Has someone finished it from the beginning (without passwords)?
It´s a very difficult game but I love it.

@Konamito:
I did. It was not so difficult. Patience and clear thought is the way to go.

There are 60 main stages. I do not think that are someone that have finished from the beginning without passwords.

I like the ability to make my own stages most anyway. I did finish all stages for the record.

In the MSX2 version there is some odd freezing when you thraw some weapons like knifes etc... The MSX1 version run totaly smoother on this point, which makes it a little less stranger to play.

GuyveR800 explained me the exact reason once but i don't recal at all what that reason was

[15:00] <GuyveR800> there are pauses when you throw AND pick up the knife
[15:00] <GuyveR800> and when you pick it up, the other items flash!
[15:01] <GuyveR800> the items also flash when a mummy comes from the sarcophagus
[15:01] <GuyveR800> o.O
[15:02] <GuyveR800> ok, so konami does a lot of useless LMMM copies
[15:02] <GuyveR800> so that's most probably the cause for the pause.
[15:02] <GuyveR800> it has to wait for the VDP to be 'free' before it can do the knife animation thing

Clearer now

yeah, those animations are pixels while the character animations are sprites. so there's a 2 way construction. the pause should not have happened. did konami finally release some "sloppy" code?

well, if I'm not mistaken, Snatcher, being a port from a different system, was much more sloppy....
but anyway, reading Guyver's explanation posted by J-War, that seems sloppy already.

I guess they made the MSX1 version first, then the MSX2 one and did a poor job on optimizing, but that's just guessing.
