Hello
I found a scc-music disk full with scc files from konami games.
The disk has all the songs of all the levels of about 15 konami games
+all the SFX.
ALL ON ONE DISK
I regret to say that I forgot the name of the disk, I have it somewhere at home though.
Anyway,
There are for example 3 files of about 16kb for ALL THE SONGS + SFX of Spacemanbow.
Thats about 48 kb for more or less 10 songs !!!!, thats less than 5 kb per song.

Thats Amazingly small......

How is that done?

Example given.
1 song made with SCC-MUSIXX is also around 10-16 kb.

I also saw a nemesis 3 music disk (the same thing)
How are these songs ripped and replayed from the original???

(or, does anyone know the guys who did this?)

Good compression. And not all Konami-songs are that large eh.. usually about 30 seconds up to a minute.. depending on the type o' song.

30 seconds, that would be four 64step-patterns in SCC-musixx at typical BPM..

IIRC Nestor Soriano has done such rips. I recall downloading a Nemesis 3 music disk from his website. Google for him

SCC-MUSIXX = tracked music, giving gaps of zeroes in ranges where nothing is changed.
Konami games = MML compiled music, each note has a length given with it which is much more efficient.

and AFAIK Martos did those things... and Ramon van der Winkel did something similar with Konmouse.

I also have a demodisk here with some music from a lot of Konami's/ Have no idea where I left it though I think it was from Xela soft.
FONY also released a demo with all Nemesis III music. The demo is called The Yellow Allert demo :-) It's on our site if you want to take a look at it.
We combined some GFX from a few games, and the demo itself was written in Basic

I guess that Yellow Alert demo used the Konmouse Nemesis 3 files?

sure, what's the site?

O.k. What is the most important for me is speed.
Speed over filesize.

Considering speed and SCC, what option is better:

Using SCC-Musixx, using: Musica, or using compressed music like talked about above?

how could I rip scc music and modify them....

Lets say I want to change bits and pieces of one the USAS songs,
and then use it for my own......

I think Fony didn't rip the Nemesis 3 music one by one, but the whole music part: replayer, music, sound effects, music fade, etc. It's one complete system. With megaroms they're set up in a couple of seperate 8K datablocks (at least Konami did it that way). It's a bit complicated to explain the whole process (aside from the fact Konami wouldn't really like us to do all this), but I remember the replayer is called by the interrupt handler.

Happy hunting...

about the SCC music disks...
I recall there's one from Martos and one from the Boss.
I think the originals were from Martos, but there seem to be different versions of some of these soundrips.
