Is there anyone who has this issue of MSX-FAN and would be willing to make a high-resolution scan of the SD-Snatcher advertisement in that issue? I would really like to have a good look at those graphics, but due to the low resolution and all those nasty JPG artifacts of the one on sdsnather.net, it's hard to get a good look at it. I know MSX-FANs from that time are not very common in Europe, but who knows, maybe I'll get lucky!  |

Hummm... there's something strange with those graphics. They don't seem to be MSX graphics. Maybe from a PC88/PC98 version (but there is no PC88/PC98 version of SD Snatcher, though...).

I think they're beta screenshots.
On generation msx there's an advert with konami's that also has a lot of differences with the actual games. There's even some games on that that were never released.

No MSX grx ? I thought SD-Snatcher was only released on the MSX ...
I don't recall the item-menu on the right, but the graphics look like the MSX version to me ...
Perhaps the screenshots are from a non-final version ?

I remember those screens from back in the day. Back then I thought it to be another version of SD Snatcher, but now I just think it's a beta version. Would love to see it in action. Another set of weapons, other backgrounds, and creatures. Sweet!
I do remember seeing another set of pictures in an MSX Fan with other graphics in the Syd Garden environment. Could be a trick on the mind though.

semi-OT
It reminds me of the plenty of beta material I've seen from Sonic Adventure. The game used to have a sky dragon, a completely different Windy Valley (stage 2) and lots of differences in the textures.
It's too bad we rarely get our hands on beta's like that, but Nemesis 2 is a good example |
