We're using Vortex Tracker II to compose some tunes for our MSXdev'05 game, and a PT3.ASM-based replayer. But I'm not that happy with the compression ratio and would like to see if I could do it better. 
So does anyone have a description of the PT3 format as used by Vortex Tracker II? All I could find were some Russian texts. |

Help needed in PT3 understanding!!!!
I understand that CrPsPtr points to the current value of the song in RAM being interpreted by the PT3 player
If my assumption is correct, I need some infos
1) how is encoded the pattern number applied to a sequence of notes or to a channel ?
2) has anyone never tried to decode on fly the PT3 commands being executed by the PT3 player ?

I posted a PT3 player made in C some time ago in the Karoshi's Forum .. maybe you understand better the format reading in C instead of ASM.
