Until now there was not an english version of a MSX-2 Basic guide online. I recently acquired a Sony HB-900AP and with it came a good english MSX-2 userguide, 270 pages. I have scanned it and made a PDF out of it, about 5 MB. Download it here: www.hansotten.com - MSX Info - Whats new (thank you Tristan for the space!)
Together with the MSX-2 Basic Reference chart it will give you a complete english view of MSX-2 Basic. |

Thanks for that wonderful book. I'm reading it because it's quite funny.

(Later on, it gets quite in-depth on sprites and pages by the way. That's also why I'm reading it, heh.)

thats what i call a screwed TURBO R those germans dont even know how to use a turbo r so they reinvent the wheel  |

Please reread the story. Wolfgang knew very well what he was doing with the turboR. The paintjob was a marketing trick to get attention in those days. |

Abi van Tamelen has sent me pictures of his MSX turboR GT. This machine not only looks very good, in mint condition, but has a label that is different from other GT's. Its states 256K RAM, and also this GT has 512K builtin. A misprint? A rarity? Let me know if your GT also has this 256K label!

Yokoi had a look at this rare turboR when Abi took it with him to Bussum (2003). He told me that Panasonic intended to let the GT have 256KB memory, but switched to 512KB in the end. Microcabin seems to have pushed Panasonic to make this decision. This one might have been a prototype |

A game designers club deciding for hardware manufacturers what the size of the memory must be? That's insane! Can't blame Panasonic for doing it in the end, but it seems strange to me...

HansO: Do you know more about this white MSX tR? It seems, that at least keyboard routines were translated, but what about MSX-View and softwares on disks?
