lol, Sprtinter was available from 97 up until 2003. Now they don't make them anymore. Just sell regular PC stuff. Web site is for nostalgia.

Well, it's not surprising at all. People talk about new hardware, but no one goes as far as buying some. In 7 years of sales this company sold less then 200 units at price *BELOW* production cost, hoping to build a community. After 7 years they decided that enough is enough.

Same thing could happen to Leonardo Padial's excellent MSX hardware. People don't buy it, because they are greedy and/or can't care less... Well don't be surprised if he will just quit

@ Dhau
I don't think it has to do with greedyness. But fact us that most MSX-hardware released nowadays (including 1CM) are just gadgets which most people won't use that much, and then 200 euro's is just a lot of money to waste.
This is what happens if you create something for a niche-market: It's going to be expensive and only sold in small quantities. And the part of the MSX comunity that is willing to spend (a lot of) cash on gadgets is only getting smaller and smaller.

Well, there is a (little) Sprinter community "The unofficial Sprinter homepage" and this community is still alive.
Oh, and the Padial hardware is a bit expensive, (about 800 eur for a complete system, so told me the dutch importer)

I don't accuse anyone for being greedy Being greedy is good! Saves you money. But please don't be like "Oh noes! Sprinter is dead! OMG! So sad!". Because it's not sad, it's just a part of life. Dumb idea to make 8-bit computer in 32-bit era.

64-bit better...

I don't see it so "dumb", I almost prefer some 8-bit games than modern games. Anyway, we always can enjoy all technologies together so... let's the market grow widely! ^ ^
