Thanks to Pinobot I just got me a Toshiba keyboard HX-MU901 with module.
I also have a Philips NMS1205 musicmodule.
The keyboard connector of the Toshiba keyboard also fits in the NMS1205.
Here's my question :
Is it possible to use the toshiba keyboard with the philips musicmodule ?
I'm afraid I would destroy either the NMS1205 or the keyboard (or my MSX computer) when trying if it works .
Did anybody try this before and knows if it works or if it's harmfull to try myself.
Thanks in advance ! |

The Toshiba keyboard will not work right with the Music Module, wrong keys etc. No sense in trying that combination as is.
The Philips keyboard and the Toshiba keyboard are not the same tone range either, more keys on the Philips one.
You can, and this has been done before, with a lot of rewiring and soldering, adapt the Toshiba keyboard for the Music Module. The relevant service manuals will tell you how. The Toshiba service manual is written by me by inspecting a working version to help some one restore a Toshiba keybaord adapted for the Music module to its original state |

Ok. It doesn't work properly with eachother, but is it dangerous to try it ? In other terms can I damage something by trying ?
Ain't much sense for me in rewiring because then it won't work with the toshiba module anymore and I only have one keyboard.
Just have to keep looking for a philips keyboard.
If you know somebody who wants to sell one please let me know.

It isn't dangerous. I believe FAC Soundtracker also made it possible to use the toshiba keyboard on the Music Module.
I'm not liable for any damages, btw
