Accesing the Moonsound SRAM

Hello there,

Anyone knows how to acces to the SRAM of our moonsounds? I think that it is not explained in the provided documentation (maybe it is just because the MB driver uses it).

I tried to find it around or ask other users with the same bad luck.

I just need info like Switching Address, memory ranges where it can be read/write, etc.

Thank you!

You can download the opl4 manual at www.msx.ch. The information you need is in that manual

Maybe I was that blind... I will try to open that file again.

Edited: Thank you! Now I will study it, I hope this SRAM can be accesed from the computer directly.

And if you have any additional questions about it just ask. I've coded a lot for the opl4

Yeah, Anne told me about it. Now I am not going to use the OPL4 directly, but the SRAM chip, if it is possible.

You always have to access the sram trough the opl4. What are you going to do with it?

I'm afraid that I can't use this SRAM since I was said (thanks Manuel!) that it has no battery...

I just wanted to use it as a normal Static RAM, but if the contents are not there after a reset I can't use it.

Thanks anyways.

People more often asume that sram has a battery . After a reset the content is still there, but not after a power off ofcourse. Why did you think it did have a battery?

I assumed that each SRAM had a battery.
Hmm, if it has the contents after a reset it could be useful for me, but if I the SRAM has to be accessed through OPL4... :/

Believe, I don't need the OPL4, I just wanted to take profit of that SRAM.

never assume anything . btw the sram in a pentium (for example) also doesn't have a battery Why is it a problem that it has to be accessed to the opl4'?

Because I am lazy...
But I will try to do it in the future if I have enough space... but now I don't want to check how it can be accessed through OPL4...
Maybe after having something "solid" I will do it using moonsound SRAM too... I have other possibilities now.
