Hello guys!
I've seen some NES and PCE emulators to play games in a Game Boy Advance. Is there any MSX emulator for use in a GBA too? I'd love to play MSX games wherever I go. |

You should follow the evolution of this emulator :
http://hem.passagen.se/flubba/gba.html
After SMS and SG-1000 support, the author has added recently the ColecoVision emulation, a system that is very close to the first MSX generation. Next step could be MSX support, but only MSX1 support. The author does not have the intention to support MSX2 and higher. |

Thanks Mars... What are the hardware differences between MSX and Coleco?

A different PSG and less RAM for Coleco by comparison with MSX.
Memory management is also different and the Coleco console is more dependent to unpredictable VDP behaviour than the MSX computer.
It explains why it's not evident to adapt a MSX game for Coleco. Actually, it's easier to adapt a SG-1000 game. SG-1000 can indeed be viewed like almost a Coleco clone, although it has been produced without copying on each another ....

Well, here´s the link to the emulators:
http://hem.passagen.se/flubba/gbadown.html
This page has (among others) SMS and Coleco emulators for the GBA with sourcecode. AFAIK both systems are very similar to MSX hardware. If someone ever decides to convert/adapt these emulators to play MSX games in the GBA, I´d be more than grateful. |

There you can find a Gameboy emulatoe for MSX, but that is not what he is looking for.
He is looking for an MSX Emulator for his Gameboy Advance. I would love this as well, although I must say some Konami NES versions are almost the same as the MSX versions And you can emulate those perfectly. |

As precised by Ricardo on his Yahoo!Group about BrMSXGBA :
Sure, coloquei na seção de arquivos, mas esseprojeto é descontinuado.
Translation :
Sure, I've placed it in the files section, but this project is discontinued.

I´ve read it in the discussion list. Nice, but still a beta... Thanks anyway...

Hmmmmzzz
I have just downloaded the emulator. Anyone knows how to use it? I know how to send files to my GBA, using my linker cable, but how do I add games to this file? |

tfh, some explanations about BrMSXGBA :
- the file includes the game Antartic Adventure, that you can play directly on your GBA
- if you use an hexadecimal editor, then you'll see that the game begins at the address 48000 : delete this part of the file and replace it by other MSX1 roms of 8 Kb, 16 Kb or 32 Kb .... Some of them will work, but not all ... it's only a beta version
- by default, it runs a Brazilian MSX1 machine : the BIOS is between address 40000 and address 48000, you can also replace it by the BIOS of another MSX1 machine. |

BrMSXGBA uses HLE (high level emulation). Since it was tuned for Antarctic Adventure, the HLE may interfere in other games, that's why they break. Someday I may create a BrMSX-DS, but this GBA version is really discontinued.
