Does anyone know if the keyboard connector is the same as that of the PX7, they are both 13-pin Din plugs. I dont see a reference on the hanso pages.

On Hans Otten pages you can find manuals for PX-7. I do not know of Yamaha model. Maybe you can try to find Vcc and GND pins, that are the "dangerous ones". If they match, then try connections, but keep inmind that PX has some extra keys

According to the PX7 service manual, it appears that the the pins are the following D0-D7,STB, caps, gnd, and +5v. I also have a spare keyboard for a Sony HB700. The pins, again, appear to be different, although the plug is still a 13 pin Din plug. This looks like fun  |

I dont know - i have not got it yet - there is a chance to get a Yamaha machine (an MSX2) very cheaply! I can not find any information about a suitable keyboard though  |

If i knew the connection diagram of the AX500 I could modify a Pioneer PX7 keyboard. I seem to have a number of these!

Shame, though, that the seller of this AX500 obtained it from the Nottingham Freecycle list free-of-charge and has placed it onto eBay.....
I hope it ends up in the hands of a real MSX fan in the end, and not another person looking to make a quick buck.

It was offered on the Nottingham Freecycle list. I emailed the guy offering it, and arranged to collect the machine but I was a little too late and it was given to somebody else... who then placed it onto eBay the same day. The guy who offered it on Freecycle was a little P'd off to say the least.
Anyway as I say, hope it ends up in the hands of a real MSX fan!
(and yeh, I'm a bit miffed about missing out on it...) |

flibblescan, are you in Nottingham? and an msx fan? I am in Leicester. I am the proud owner of the UK's only Panasonic TurboR-GT, along with a sunrise CF-IDE! quite a nice setup! with a 17" Samsung TFT monitor.
