Hello all!!
As probably you can see I'm trying hard to compose music with a sequencer in my MSX. I'm trying to obtain Midisaurus 'cos I think it is the best REALTIME recording sequencer for MSX but I'm afraid it is difficult to find. So, in case I finally use Micro-Sios sequencer, I have one question about MIDI functionallity. Micro-Sios software records the musical midi composition in a format that is not .mid, so here is the question:

If I connect the Turbo R MIDI OUT to my MIDI IN keyboard for playing one song with Microsios, and also connect the MIDI OUT of my keyboard to a MIDI IN external hardware sequencer in record mode I'll be able to record a midi file in that external hardware sequencer?

thanks!!!!

wasn't Mu-sios created for the midi-interface which came with midisaurus? I don't know for sure...

I think what you need is MIDI THRU here... (which sends all data incoming @ MIDI IN out without any changes). IF you only have MIDI OUT, you can often make the MIDI OUT behave like MIDI THRU. However, isn't it easier to find a MuSIOS -> SMF converter somewhere? I never really worked with MuSIOS, but it would not surprise me if the program has an option to save as SMF somewhere either..

I don't know really. I'm using the MIDI of my Turbo R GT and it works perfectly.

About using MIDI THRU maybe you are right, thanks! And about converting the Musios data to smf, I have no idea at all, and it seems the only thing the program let me is to save in its format. I have not the manual but there are not so may options to save and none to export.

AFAIK, Bit2 created Mu-SIOS to work with any MSX-MIDI compatible interface;
Unfortunately, only MidiSaurus and the turboR MIDI interface obey the MSX-MIDI standard.

bytheway, realizing that Mu-sios is a GREAT realtime sequencer, anyone there has a manual of it?
