Berichten: 748 |  Geplaatst: 16 Juni 2006, 17:01 | I did mention a tracker as only part of a whole bunch of common utilities involved in games creation (my only interest on SymbOS is about its possibilities as a platform to develop games for MSX, not forgiving the cross development of course  ). About the interface, well, I'm pretty familiarized (although I'm not an advanced user) with the "bloated" GUI of the old Amiga trackers :

...to which Digitracker seems to owe a lot. So it looks more familiar to me than other MSX trackers. I'll be happy to see something like Digitracker running on SymbOS (if could be done... ).

That (laugh if you want) is CPC mode 1 (4 x 320 x 200). No reason why the window can't expand upto 512x212 for the msx. | | wolf_

Berichten: 4526 | Geplaatst: 16 Juni 2006, 17:37 | Ah, well, I'm no cpc-expert, and msx-emulators also tend to have a black border around the 'msx-monitor' so I didn't dare guessing whether it was fullscreen or windowed. (the black border of winape is kinda huge then..)
Well, try to test it on the msx-version of symbos, and see how it runs.. at least this screen-layout is better than the digitracker one ^_^ | | Trebmint

Could you tell, how do I write a "Hello World" program. I would like to have a program, that shows "Hello World" and when I click "Ok" it will exit.
At the moment I have managed to go so far, that the window opens just fine, but window names on the right from start button will be messed up and when I move the window also title bar will go black. When I click Ok nothing happens. (SymStudio 0.79)

Ah yes at the moment I think you'll have problems getting much out of symstudio as that version was based on prodatrons cpc beta, and some of the constant files have been superseeded.
You may find that if you download the latest symbos library from http://www.symbos.de/download.htm that if you put symbos-constants.asm into the sys directory renamed as consts.asm it may not crash.
Are you running the .exe on an Msx? As so far I only have output to CPC DSK format. I will endevour to get a updated version of symstudio ready for tommorrow evening.

I apologise as this probably isn't a place for code listings. This should become consts.asm in the sys directory

At the moment I managed to go around the problems by inserting icon and using "CALL .App_End" to exit.
I've been testing on my MSX by copying symbos.sym as EXE
The editing of programs is really hard, as I can't type characters like "_()" I always have to copy them from somewhere and unfortunately copying from Notepad does not work  I hope, this will be fixed soon...
