You can't run this demo in blueMSX 2.4, but it will be possible with future blueMSX 2.5 as it comes with HD support. See the screenshots that I've made with a beta version ! |

I've also created a harddisk image that you can directly use in openMSX (and later in blueMSX 2.5) :
http://www.msxblue.com/Dragontest.zip
To use it in openMSX, the unzipped file (Dragontest.dsk) must be placed in a special directory (see the user's manual).
You also need to edit the hardwareconfig.xml file in share/extensions/ide as following :
- name of the file : Dragontest.dsk (in stead of hd.dsk)
- size of the file : 16 (in stead of 100)

I once tried openmsx, but it complicated the s**t out of me.
Ever since that moment I got scared of it, and dare not touch it again.
I just love the install and runnit feature of most software.
Openmsx requires the user to really know how to "build" the machine.
Im not up to that at this point.....
Ill wait for the new bluemsx. (^_^)

norakomi: check us on IRC to prove that that is not true. You do not need to know how to build a machine at all!

norakomi : do you have tried with Catapult and my boosted openMSX configs ? It's a little more easy ... but I know that the place of the harddisk image is not evident.

My Documents\openMSX\persistent\ide\untitled1\hd.dsk
That's easier than "check the manual for the location" |

If anyone is interested in running Dragons Lair in blueMSX, you can send me (or mars) an email and we'll link you to the latest beta. You can of course get the latest source code from the cvs archive too and build it yourself but the latest beta was released two weeks ago and is pretty much up to date.

manuel : Yes, but as I have a French Windows, it's a little different (and on Spanish Windows, it's also different ..)
So you see the problem ?
On my French Windows, it's even more complicated as it begins by
C:\Documents and Settings\
(Mes documents is a sub-sub-directory)
Probably the same with English Windows, but you know, I never use the 'Mes documents' directory, except when an application (openMSX) gives me no another choice.

ah well, it's the crappy thing of Windows.... No normal user directories
On other OS's, it's just ~/.openMSX/persistent/etc.
Oh, by the way, isn't that My DOcuments linked to from several places? LIke the Desktop or from the file explorer, or something? |

Yes, it's linked from the file explorer, but the directory will be opened in the same window, not in a different window than, for example, the directory where openMSX is installed ... There are 2 solutions : open a second window for the file explorer before to click on the 'My documents' link OR change a general parameter, but this last option will be applied in all cases, what's ridiculous. Actually, I don't understand why there's no an option 'Open in a new window' when you right-click on the 'My documents" link ...
