As I said, we don't have Windows developers in our team (people who write code and could set up and maintain the build system, etc.), so, we would really need someone like you to join the team to do this. Any kind of help is welcome regarding this, you don't have to know anything about emulators. It's just that some small things are Windows specific and such a Windows developer could assist us in fixing things (and doing the maintenance on the Windows-specific build system, if you really want that).
Anyway, if you don't want to come to IRC to get the binary, please ask BiFi to send you one, or send me an e-mail (manuel at msxnet dot org) and I will ask BiFi if he can build a debug binary for WIndows, which you can run with gdb. The easiest option: check IRC |

It's been years since I've been on IRC - can you recommend a client and point me to server / channel / etc. information?
I'll try to find you all this weekend.

I recommend X-Chat (for Windows: see www.silverex.org), and you need to go to the server irc.freenode.net ("FreeNode" , channel #openMSX. |

A couple of years ago, we have tried compiling openMSX with Visual C++ 6, but that led to tons of compile errors because it had very different ideas about what is valid C++ than GCC has (and in most cases, GCC was right). I heard that Visual C++ 7 is a lot better, so it's worth a retry. If you are interested in trying, we are willing to merge changes into the main CVS, provided the new code will compile on GCC as well.
