Very interesting little clip showing sir Clive Sinclair on the verge of being bankrupt. It seems his 'Spectrum is 2 or 3 times as powerful as MSX' comment, all problems about the soon to be failing QL he was confronted with by the interviewer etc. merely indicates that he was hangin down from his fingernails.
However, there's no denying that he *was* quite brilliant in the fact that he really was the very first to make a real home computer affordable to the public (with the ZX-80, and later the ZX-81 and finally the hugely popular Spectrum).
And the fantastic failure of the C4 really gave him a cult status . |

you can say all you want, but the QL is one sexy computer. Never had one, but always was intruiged by it.

Very interesting video, and thread...
Of course MSX are more powerful than any ZX Spectrum, and latest MSX's (2+, turbo) are also much better than the QL.
However I will always admire Uncle Clive, despite their computers were better or worst than the rest, despite their foolish investments that finally make him go bankrupt. He was the first visionary for homecomputers, and he fights ALONE against big corporations as COMMODORE or MSX (several big netherland and japanese corporations).
Think twice... a simple british guy vs great corporations XDDDDDDDDDDDD
Uncle Clive is the best... despite crazy declarations like this from the retrovideo |
