With the OCM mkII announced, this looks like a good time to start pondering about what features it could be extended with. Some might be fairly easy to implement, others might prove to be a real challenge. For you, personally, what would be your OCM wishlist?
Some examples
Ymixer (or other PSG extensions)
32 channel SCC (^_^)
ADVRAM
More colors or sprites per line...
you probably get my drift right now, so.... what's your OCM MSX3 wishlist? |

On the top of my wishlist, is that they produce it, then when I get one, we'll see about adding new stuff.

* Decent video speed, no narrow vdp-bus like we're tortured with for year, just fast now, hmkay?
* The already mentioned sprites... also multicolor please?
* A custom number of delayline-units for audio purposes, these require only very little cpu time, but somewhat more RAM
* each audio channel (of the PSG, Fmpac and SCC) should support routing (direct out, to a delayline(-system), percentages out/wet etc.)
* 2 or 4MB RAM out of the box (I've heard issues about 4MB)
* Z80 at 40mhz out of the box
* an FM-Pac with no softwarevoice limitations, and with more operator waveforms (those are all not much cpu depending, just mem)
uhm.... thinkathinka |

Let them produce it, once we have it, we'll see.
Having a bug free and accurate HW emulation is the first issue.
after that, we could pass to implement some powerup (e.g. from the vdp of the 2+,
like commands in any scr mode, or HW scrolling)

| But 32 channel SCC sounds pretty too...
|
No it doesn't That's 32x 2 different types of quantisation noise, that'll be like some old radio tuning in on Radio Tunguska orso.. ^_^ |

And what if we implement all those new stuff....
Will there be any software that will use them?
I'm afraid that will only lead to a GFX9000 sequal. There are still no real games for it.
I'd rather see some features that will enhance existing software.
(Loading, debugging, sound output, save states, freeze, cheat engine and hardware emulation (laserdisc anyone))
@Ro: You're right

U know USB is perfect. Old joystick will be rare soon. And there is a lot of USB gamepads,keyboards,flashdisks,3"5 fdds,printers...
I got HP PC and I think there is no nice PC out there in the whole world.
Maybe Apple Mac + XP |
