I was just wondering, would it be hard to add "MRC-" in front of each page title? I think that it would be easyer to spot MRC pages when they are minimized this way. Now when I open page to some forum topic page and minimize the window I only see the forum topic name. I know that there is this " (Development MSX forum) " or similar in the end, but that usually gets cut off.

I think another important thing is to subscribe to a thread, and get an email when somebody answer.

A "Stay Logged in Forever" checkbox. I always have to log in all over again after a while, since (I suppose) cookies expire after a fixed period?

I think it has something to do with neatly designed forums becoming bloated, all of a sudden. By the way, I've got my own proposal (next to the issue of automatically truncating long links, which is planned already I believe): more and more huge piles of code start to drop in on the forums. Why not put that in a code box of some maximum size? Just like they do on e.g. the Ubuntu community forums.

MRC has about 1404 active users. Assuming a 50 Kbytes limit, it would spend about 68 Mbytes of server space. And that not considering that not all avatars would reach that limit and not all users would use an avatar. And about forum design, an 80x80 pixel image would perfectly fit below our names.

Yay for codebox, works on the blitzforum as well, apart from a max height there should also be a max width, namely not larger than the width of the message area on any user's resolution.

Assuming a worst-case 50kB limit, and 16 messages per forumpage, that'll be 50*16 = 800kB in a worst-case situation. The problem with avatars and signatures is deliberate misuse. I mean, I'm sure we've all seen forums anywhere on this planet where ppl have a signature larger than the average message-body. It's incredibly ugly and won't improve MRC in any way.

I know that, but as I said, just limit their sizes. And yes, I hate images in signatures.

And about MRC, the best improvement with animated avatars would be simply fun. I am also a member of the Retroremakes forum, and we have loads of fun with many avatars in there.

But, I won´t insist anymore.

Well it was merely my opinion, ofcoz there're more ppl who have a say in it, most notably snout, for obvious reasons.. tho iirc his opinion was also 'no' ..
