Whom did you buy your cartridge from? Which computers have you tested the card on?
I am tempted to buy one as well. Is MSX-DOS 2 stable with it?

BTW, have you tried ODO ROM loader?

Bought the cartridge from padial hardware in spain costs 75euros, tested the cart on the following Panasonic A1WX MSX2+, Sanyo Wavy 70FD MSX 2+, Sony HBX MSX2+, Philips VG8235, Panasonic FS A1GT Turbo R.
Have not tried odo rom loader, I use loadrom 1.0 which support big rom files.
Works with Dos2 but there the loadrom soft get problems whith 1mb and over rom files, smaller files like 32kb runs fine, when running dos1 loadrom does not have the same problems.

I think it's worth taking a risk! Did the cartridge come in a proper case? I might order one too. |

No it does not come in a case, it can fit in a sony or konami game case, the print is not very big, I have decided not to use a case, but beware of putting it the wrong way if you dont use a case , instruction and video! on the padial page! |

I have a few questions about the IDE-CF: first, does someone tried to use the modern > 1Gb CF cards with the IDE-CF ?
Also I know that there is required a disk drive to use it, but I suppose that this because it is needed to establish the partition, format them and mark one of them as bootable. Suppose that I have an MSX2 with diskdrive and make all these things to obtain a bootable CF card. If just plug the IDE-CF card with the bootable card into an MSX2 without drive, will the computer boot from the card and work with it just like any other MSX2 ?

In my Sony F700+Sunrise IDE+IDE2CF adaptor, 1Gb CF work fine, using 2 partitions, 32Mb Fat12 as boot and the the rest in FAT16.

Do not forget to copy MSXDOS2.SYS and COMMAND2.COM after your partition is BOOTABLE. |

>Since its not working together with my Padial Mapper, I was >thinking of trading my old SCSI card for one of those IDE CF card,
I think it's a bad idea.
Sunrise IDE hasn't good software for execute .dsk file images.
(start.com and others) try to load megal gear 2(disk version), pricess maker, and many others (that use these boot disk format.....)
Mega-Scsi and MMC/SD-Reader has the best software(at the moment) for emulating .dsk and it works fine(metal gear 2,princess maker,etc....).
(sorry for my english)

It is a very strange assumption that dsk's legal or illegal has to do with the software of the ide itself. We simply donot supply it.
And blame us for those programs that doesnot function isnot correct

Hi hansO
>The Padial mapper is known to cause trouble for example in a >turboR.
All external mappers(not only Padial mapper ) has the same problem with TurboR computers. Armando "Ramones" fixed the problem with "memtr.com".
>It works fine in a slot expander together with other carts like >Sunrise IDE.
And it works fine without slot expander, I've tested it
>Now that you report that the mapper causes trouble
>with a SCSI interface, i would suggest telling Leo that his mapper >needs some work. The Digital KC/Gouda etc 4Mb mappers work
> fine in such situations.
You can see a Leonardo Padial 4mb mapper working with a MegaSCSI, loading mg2(disk version)and it works fine.
