Hi! I'm currently interested in buying/trading a diskless MSX2 computer. I do not mean an MSX2 with a faulty diskdrive, but an MSX2 originally designed without disk.

Requirements:

- European models and/or japanese models with adapted power supply (220V in any case)
- 128 KB RAM prefered, 128 KB VRAM required
- 100% working (all the keys, all the interfaces, etc.)
- Good overall state
- Located in Spain - P&P can be very high from country to country - but make your offers!

Favourite models:

- SONY HB-F9P
- PHILIPS VG-8220
- MITSUBISHI ML-G1
- ???

To be payed by PayPal, bank transfer or traded by other MSX material (cartridge games, rare hardware, others).

Send your offers to EDU [[at]] ROBSY ((dot)) NET

@pitpan: just curious, why don't you want any diskdrives?

I might still have a punch-card MSX2!

Indeed!

Actually I'd remove the MSX2 BIOS and install the MSX1 BIOS instead (I have done it on a Philips NMS8245 and it was a lot of fun). What I need is an MSX1 with a better video output. That means the RGB output from an MSX2 computer.

Wouldn't you still have an MSX2 VDP then?!? Doesn't really make sense. Changing a BIOS does nothing on the hardware level, which is where the real differences are. Just use a normal drivefull MSX2 and make the CS signal of the diskROM switchable. If you really want an MSX1 with proper video signals though, I think there's a way to hack a couple of (most?) MSX1 models so they'll output RGB. Or... You could just make some MSX2 stuff, do us all a favour! I'm sure you could make some nice games for that platform!
