Hey Tom,
Welcome to the MRC forums... I wouldn't know if you can buy an MSX in Norway, but there are always a few for sale in the Netherlands. I doubt the postage is really that high. I also know there's quite a few Finnish MSX users still active, perhaps they can help you find a nice MSX computer, I imagine the postage would be even less. In the mean time, be sure to check out one of the popular emulators, like openMSX or blueMSX. Have fun MSXing! |

Hi Norwegian!
Yes, we have a community of MSX users active here in finland as sonic said. Unfortunately I have only two MSX'es, and none of them is for sale.
I found my SVI-738 in finnish internet auction a year ago. Perhaps there are internet auction -websites in Norway as well..?
Check them regularly. If there was MSX'es in norway in the eighties/nineties so there'll most likely be some found in auction sites and second hand shops.
I bought my other msx (turboR ) from ebay, which also is a good place to search. But remember that postage fees and some other costs become bigger when buying from as far as other side of the world.
Netherlands is option as well. I'm not sure how this page works but I think http://www.marktplaats.nl/ is worth checking out.
Let's see if any other finnish MSX'ers replies with any options to obtain an MSX from finland. Buying from here could indeed be option with low costs. |

An emu isn't much different than a real MSX in terms of usage.
If you're in basic, then all you need to do is:
insert a .dsk with enough space for your stuff
save"myfile.bas"
and for loading:
load"myfile.bas"
and for seeing files:
files

The RuMSX emulator has an overview of all BASIC commands in the manual iirc. As an emulator it's a little bit outdated, but the documentation that comes with it is excellent.
