Thanx for the tip Bas, got the MSX at home now
Question, there is a switch at the front pannel with a LED besides it.
When switched on the LED is lit, when diskdrive is active the LED blinks.
Can this be a 7MHz switch? Anyone an idea?

It's easy to try: fire up your MSX, having the switch turned ON. Once in BASIC, type: FOR I=0 TO 500: NEXT. If this is done in one second, it's still 3.5MHz, so the switch is used for something else.
If you can insert a disk w/ only MSXDOS2 on it and boot from it, it is a DOS2 switch.
If you can type SCREEN 12 in BASIC without it resulting in an 'Illegal function call', it's an MSX2+ switch.
Those are about all functionalities I've seen for such a switch.

With MSX2+ switch I actually meant an MSX BIOS switch, 'cause that's effectively what it is eh |

If you see smoke comming out of the MSX you know it was the selfdestruct switch |

@D-Tail: I'll check it out, thx.
@Henk: It didn't self destruct in 10 sec  |

If you can type _TURBO ON in BASIC without a resulting 'Illegal function call' (or similar), it's a KUN-BASIC switch |

In most cases you first have to do _BC (call Basic Compiler), which loads the KUN compiler to memory... But I don't know the details on that. I think KUN BASIC is always enabled with this software switch.
