Sometimes, people make up a dramatic story to go with a video, like this. It's definitely (part of) a tool assisted speedrun. (what's that?: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tool-assisted_speedrun )

I would only believe this is I saw someone with a game console do this real time. I can slow down my emu and use save states to run trough a game. No big deal... I didn't see 'her' go trough a complete level without fire-ing a shot.

but euhmm..
without firing you will not get the speedups and the options that we see on the ship, right?!?

@Vampier - Ikaruga has a 'Dot Eater' ranking -> complete a level without firing a single shot. You do not get any extras for it, even though it's not the easiest way of playing

True, I admit I left out the option that this could be fake.
I have to agree that it this movie is a bit odd. The Power-ups (aka option) are strange.
Also how can you fight the boss, at the end of the level, without shooting a single shot.
