I have wrote an e-mail to Bazix on the subject. I think that it is somewhat strange that they have completed exactly a batch thus hopefully it will be some spare OCM !

If the number of people wanting to buy OCM is bigger than a number of OCMs in the batch, then nothing strange happened. The batch is just sold out. |

Of course, but why produce such an small batch losing an amount of potential buyers ?

I think it's partly based on the earlier pre-ordering, where the required 5000 wasn't met. Naturally part of this 5000 was Japanese, but Bazix prolly based their own stock on the amount of non-JP orders back then. (I'm mere guessing of course)

And besides that: I don't expect Bazix has stacks of money, so they could take a (large) stock of the OCM. Keeping stock costs money, you know  |

Would it technically be possible to send the OCM's video output to its USB, connect the other end of the USB cable to a notebook, and use the notebook's screen as OCM screen? That would be so handy on fairs, one notebook and an OCM is all you need!

Theoretically, it should be possible - there a lots of applications that do video-over-USB. Question is if a heardware design for that fits into the FPGA, next to your boosted MSX2 config...
As an alternative, you could use an USB video capturing device, like this one. |

OCMs seem to be available in Japan... Are the Japanese models much different from the ones that Bazix used to distribute?

The JP version has other construction materials which aren't allowed in the EU. And afaik, that's all.

It is strange the ocm is not built with material compatible worldwide ...
