I'm trying to open the pdfs in http://www.msxarchive.nl/pub/msx/docs/hwmodsetc/.

Xpdf refuses to open most of them, acrobat reader complains about broken pictures or fonts and displays only half of the pdfs... and it holds for most of the pdfs ! Some of the images are rotated to the left about half the image size I want to read the how to pimp my NMS8250 docs !

That usually happens with documents in Japanese. I never tried to solve it since it wouldn't improve things much anyway.

Yes, these files are mostly corrupted. With all the moving around of sites this has happened.
There is an alternative, you can either try this directory
http://www.msxarchive.nl/pub/msx/mirrors/hanso//hwmodsetc/
or access these documents at their origin at my site

In that particular directory there are no Japanese documents, so that's not the issue. Thanks for the alternative, Hans. Anybody here who is able to fix this ?

Which Japanese documents are you referring to? In the dir you mentioned there are none.

I've removed the files that were also in /mirrors/hanso/hwmodsetc from /docs/hwmodsetc and put a link to the hanso dir in there.
