I'm trying to purchase an MSX2 computer that can be used in the United States, but so far all I've found was for a Sony HB75B on eBay for a rediculous price of $300US. Does anyone have an MSX2 computer to sell? If possible, I would like to get an SCC and MSX-MUSIC cartridge as well.

If your TV has SCART, you can use almost any MSX2. I have built RGB-to-SCART cable and it works with Yamaha MSX2. There are also a lot of european models that have SCART on them, so regular SCART-to-SCART will work.

AFAIK, SCART is a connector rarely/never used in the USA.

@NightSprinter: keep your eyes out for an MSX2+ on ebay... (.nl, .es and .jp) There are some very nice MSX2+ models by Panasonic, Sony and Sanyo which will work just fine in the US. They should cost you between $50 and $100 and almost all models come with an MSX-MUSIC chip. If you want, you could also buy an external memory mapper. It should cost maybe another $50 and would allow you to run pretty much all MSX2/2+ software ever made, meaning you'd pretty much be set. SCC's are pretty easy to find, just a matter of keeping an eye on ebay again. You should be able to find a game with an SCC for roughly $25 - $50, depending on the game that comes with it.

Hi, I've got a Panasonic FS-A1ST MSX Turbo R with 512kB of main RAM on sell. It's in excellent condition, and should work great in USA too. The price is $320US + shipping costs, with an SCC cartridge included. If you are interested please let me know, I can send you some pictures.

Sound like a fair deal, depending on which game is included.

but there's a certain value-difference between Kings Valley 2 and SD-Snatcher So it's either fair or uber-fair

Yes, it's Kings Valley 2. Anyway, I think I'll list the MSX on ebay next days, I'll let you know when the computer will be listed.
