Ok, there is always a game challenge, software challenge, demo challenge, etc challenge...But where is the mandatory Hardware Challenge??? What about a chance for us, hardware developers?  |

No VHDL, lets do something everyone can put their hands into
MSX needs lots of interesting things:
- Programmable (non volatile) megaram/rom
- PC keyboard interface (internal)
- modem (haha)
- Ethernet interface (better, faster)
- Zip Drive interface (Parallel, why not?)
- Other sound alternatives
- Other video alternatives
Why not?

Euh.. such a challenge would be quite expensive for those developers I think.. I dunno, it's not like no-one thought of it before I think, but I guess the costs would be an important factor.. hmm.. 
+ there would be very few contestants I think.. |

True, the standard does not. MSX machines based upon the S3527 engine do have a bidirectional port.
And else it would be a matter of two, three ttl ls ic's to build one. |
