I've made a newssubmit for this remake yesterday, but for some reason it hasn't shown up yet.

Anyway, since I'm not competing in the Italo challenge, because I don't have a working MSX (and i hate composing in an emulator, I've tried) I decided to make a 'normal' remake of an old composition of mine in Italo style (Solitary Void, it's on either Cybersound or The Last Dimension ... I don't remember LOL)

haha yesh I remembered and luckily it's also one of my personal favorites

I was never into the MSX demoscene/musicdiskscene, so I've never heard the original.
This is a very good song, definitely a keeper

Indeed, spacesynth is a branched off thing from italo (oooo we love subgenres )
Less disco, more space sounds and arpeggios.
I think bands like hipnosis,cyberpeople and our own laserdance are the most wellknown.

even more surprisingly is how close these things come to the dutch trance
music these days... I wonder if there is a connection between the two
somehow... I know that michiel van der kuy (of laserdance) makes trance
music now, and that he's behind "james brown is dead" (as LA style)...

well thank you ^_^ ... I've got an MP3 CD full of Laserdance tracks in my car as we speak ... only downside is that he seems to use the same 'instrument bank' for every single song he ever made LOL ... but no complaints about that, it's still awesome

btw, I don't think i have the original of Solitary Void as MP3... i have the kss file at home though... i could mail it to you later when I'm @ home
