Very cool. Will you provide the cards with both options (with and without the additional mixer chips)? Does it make a big difference for the price? In any case I would order the cards with the additional chips.

One might wonder about the importance of bass/treble/balance/pseudostereo/spatialstereo effects. Basically a tune should be mixed/mastered in a "perfect" state. This state is then perfect, and doesn't require bass/treble/../.. So, what would one gain with this extra chip? Mostly something that one can already adjust with a typical HiFi amp the MSX might be connected to. I dunno whether this MSX cart. should have all that in addition then..

That's true, but I like the possibility to adjust these 4 values directly with the MSX. Every PC soundcard provides such settings, too, so why not the MSX.

One could choose to have it, as long -but I'm merely guessing the future- as people don't use such treble/bass/spatial settings to correct an incorrect tune in, say, a demo or game. E.g. demo or game with an mp3 should not require this extra chip in order to feature correct sounding music. In that case this extra chip is merely a personal choice.

I agree with wolf_ that mp3 sounds don't really need treble/bass/volume adjustment from a software point of view. If I'm going to buy one, it would definately be without these features and leave these features to my amp and/or speakers.
[edit]
Okay, I'm already changing my opinion Because it could be nice to have a fade in/out feature in games, instead of chopping off the music and starting a new song. But I don't see a good use for treble or bass adjustment yet.

I also absolutely agree to wolfs last post, software must not require this additional feature. But I want to have it |
