| Want to buy external FDC for MSX1

I'm desperately in need of an external Floppy drive that works on MSX1 machines. So if someone have one to sell, I'd be very happy. I would prefer a 110V 720kB drive but any working external floppy drive is of interest.
Many thanks in advance.

Anyone know where I can find one? A European one would work good too.

Thanks jltursan. Unfortunately I didn't win the auction. I made a pretty good bid but got outbid while I was asleep
Anyone else have something or know something? I really need one to continue MSX development. Now everything is put to a brutal halt. |

maybe it's more economical to buy a cheap msx2? |

I have MSX2 machines but the VDP doesn't work the same so to do MSX1 development I really need a working MSX1. Especially for more tricky stuff like demo development.

Now, that also floppy disk devices become more and more rare it's time to have a sort of emulated floppy diskimage-based. time ago i've seen a sort of usb ccart interface for msx... but i do not know more ....

Yes, I'm looking forward to it. That would certainly make development easier. I hope it will work on MSX1 machines too.
But it takes a while before its being released and I'd like to develop stuff before then too. So a floppy drive would be very nice.

It will work on MSX1. We have tested with a Toshiba HX10 and a Philips VG8020. Both worked fine. Of course, without msxdos2.
Update on Nowind:
We have received an offer from a pcb manufacturer. We know now that we can offer the device for 60 euro (without shipping). Since we have to order quite a number of boards at once, we have to make a considerable investment. Therefore we are thinking of a construction to let people pay upfront. When we have received payments for at least 600 euro's we give the order to produce. To avoid problems we would like to sell the first 10 boards in the Netherlands. Although we have tested extensively, we want to wait sending boards to the rest of the world until those 10 people report that the board works as expected. Of course, when we do not receive enough payments, people will get their money back. We have not decided yet and are open to suggestions!
We will make an official announcement very soon!!! |

The Sony HBK-30 is not for sale so lets hope for Charchano's cart. The NoWind cart will definitely be on my shopping list but a working FDC would be nice to have too.

Meanwhile I can send you a WAVeR v3 alpha version, to load your own programs (ROM format only, without mapper) into the MSX using the cassette interface at a fast pace. All you need is a good WAV replayer, such a PC. Loading speed is higher than 1 KB/s (>8.500 bauds).
Tell me if that would suit you until a new FDC comes |
