Hoping someone has an extra they'de be willing to sell to someone in the states? Also - as far as cassettes drives are concerned, do they need to be specifically designed for computer loading or would any standard cassette deck work just as well?

And as for your second question: any tapedeck would do.

Can you still buy tape decks that has the motor control? I liked that feature on my MSX. Iirc, my spectrum didn't have that and it was always a bit annoying having to stop / resume the tape manually.

Not *that* hard... Just put them in an open box on an MSX fair in Nijmegen, label the box "Gratis meenemen!", go for a cup of coffee and by the time you're back, they're gone

The problem BIG problem of using the MOTOR SW is that if you STOPS the motor with the PLAY set on, the cassette's tape with be MARKED (a ugly vertical mark) produced by the rubber roller and the pinch roller.

And of course do not forget to get the software to convert the wav to rom file so if you want to transfer your software to emulators.

Hi Gnosis, in both cases I can help. Just send me a mail and we'll work something out!

I've tried to message you directly, but I'm unsure of how to do such a thing. I am indeed looking for a mouse though, and possibly a cassette deck (I've got a few actually, but am concerned about their quality - I'l be using it to save MIDI synthesizer information in what I'm assuming is binary?)

Googling around, it looks like MSX machines use the same kind of mouse the Amiga and Atari ST use, only with a different pinout. If that's the case, it should be fairly easy to build an adaptor.
