OK, according to the FAQ the protocol is totally different. Perhaps an adaptor can still be built?

I think that there is some kind of adapter that allows you to fit a pc mouse to msx. Check this web address http://lpadial.aamsx.org/page9.HTM use babelfish for translation.Other option would be ebay (if you are lucky).
