| Which laserdisc-players can be used with the MSX?

Can anyone tell me more about the Laserdisc-system?
I already have a few Palcom Laserdisc games but my question is if they will all work with any laserdisc-player?
I don't have any experience with these games.
How do you connect a laserdisc-player to a standard MSX computer?
There are a lot of laserdisc-player on the market but are the LD-700 and LD-7000 from Pioneer the only ones that can play these games on a MSX?
Or are the newer models that came after those 2, also capable of playing these games on the MSX?
Or maybe players from Sony?
Who can help me out here?

Thanks manuel.
Yes, is have seen that article.
But it doesn't really say if any laserdisc player can be used.
When you want to play save you must choose the LD-700 or LD-7000 i suppose.
But maybe one of you guys had experience with other laserdisc-players?
There were so many different type (and brand) of players produced.
I know that i need a US or Japanese laserdisc-player, because all MSX laserdisc-games are NTSC.
Does anybody have a MSX setup with laserdisc?
And if so which brand /type laserdisc do you use?

I have one of these "prolly compatible" LaserDiscs, it's a Pioneer CLD-3080. This one it's the US clone of the japanese model, the CLD-909. IIRC I've read somewhere that this model is MSX compatible; so I believe that mine it's too. Anyway, I haven't the way to test it because I can't afford a PX-V7 and of course, the laserdisc games are also out of my sight :-(

Hi jltursan,
Too bad you don't have a MSX lasergame and a compatible MSX computer to test it.
What type of connectors are there on the CLD-3080?

That is a great pity, I have located a PAL version of the LD-700 |

The CLD-3090 has a pair of L/R audio outs, a pair of video outs, a S-Video out, an optical audio out and another pair of control jacks in/out (remote?)
You can find a lot of info here: Laserdisk UK Web Site
What are the real needs for a LD to be compatible with MSX?, a special connector or something like that? |

Ok, i guess i can only play these laserdisc-games if i have a Pioneer PX-V7 or PX-7?
Or else to work on any MSX i need the Pioneer ER-101?
This would be almost impossible because i don't recall ever seen a PX-V7 or ER-101 on Ebay (or else).
Has anybody ever tried to play the laserdisc-games with a NTSC player (like LD-700) and a PX-7 (PAL)?
Could this work?

As the article says (I think), it doesn't work. Ask STT to be sure.
The LD Basic also needs some hardware: the audio channel of the laserdisc should be routed through the MSX to load the game program from it.

Serial connection?, I see....; so, my LD it's not "compatible" at all...
About the availability of the PX-7, this one is from two days ago....
