| Xak - Possibly unfinishable?

I am playing the WOOMB translation of Xak, and got pretty far into the game. I killed the Evil Tree Spirit, but never ended up saving Fray. Now if I save Fray, I am unable to leave her at her house (the man inside just spits out the dialog he would have if these events were done in the correct order)
I can get into the shrine on the mountain though. So will I be able to finish the game without ever saving Fray? Or should I restart?

It's been a long time since I played that game, but afaik you just can't get to the tree spirit without saving Fray beforehand... Would be a bug I missed ... How come you reached the tree spirit in the first place? Could you just run into the deep woods to get to him, without even going by Fray on the beachhead? Normally Latok would complain about the deep forest being an eerie area or something. Please do explain! |

If you use the debug mode, it will probably be possible to proceed to the Tree Spirit without saving Fray. Otherwise it shouldn't be possible, as D-Tail already stated.

I just continued pressing up and heading in that direction. The dialog dissapeared, and I was at the tree spirit.
Maybe it is a glitch with the translation? I'm fairly certain I am not in the debug mode (as I am not sure how to activate the debug mode with only the keyboard)

Hmm, if that was the way you proceeded, I doubt if it has something to do with the translation.
Anyway, it should be perfectly possible to finish the game if you're able to proceed to the Molm fortress. The only thing saving Fray gets you in the end is an item, which you're able to buy in a store later on as well. Rest assured and enjoy playing . |
