Hello,
I am new to the world of MSX computers.
I was wondering if it is possible to use MSX images/ROMS on a real MSX2 computer?
Also is this legal?

It is legal if:
Its Freeware
If you dump the files from a real cartridge
If you get the binary files from a original disk-magazine

How legal it is depends on which country you live in, EU and USA have strict rules, in practise the old software have no interest to most of the software houses that made them.
You all know nintendo right? Clones have been made which are on sale all over the world, including the US and EU. These clones often include 100's of games which are pirated (no licence paid), still the authorities dont try to stop toy shops from selling them........
Hardware clones have as far as I know been made of NES 8Bit, Sega 8/16Bit, Commodore 64 (D64) the D64 is a really funny toy as it can be modded to a real c64
