Yes readable! Using AV connections gives OK picture and text, using RGB gives a much crisper image.(scart)
UHF gives the worst image and is not usable with width 80 text.

Finally I bought a new Philips 14PT1501 CRT TV. Quality using AV SCART is OK even in text 80. The MSX logo appears somewhat distorted at boot but in games or text applications I'm happy with it as I don't notice any big distortion. The feature list claim that it is able to handle RGB signals but I don't have the RGB cable for my NMS8245, thus I cannot say if this is true. BTW this model seems to be the last 14 inch CRT TV of a big brand that can be bought new in Spain.

Doesn't that AV SCART cable you mention have the RGB signal (SCART-SCART)?
Just watch the connected pins, in most of cases if all 21 pins are present they will have the RGB signal.

Yes it is a 21 pin SCART, but it is connected to AV connector in the NMS8245. The RGB is a DIN which I do not have. I will try to contact Repair-Bas to buy one from him.

A week ago I saw a 14" Sanyo. Not the last but they are disappearing fast. At least now they are quite cheap. The real challange is to find flat CRTs of 14"/15".

The 8245 has RGB through the SCART, it doesn't have RGB through DIN. The DIN is:
1 +5V
2 GND
3 AUDIO
4 Luminance
5 VIDEO
6 +12V
7 NC
8 NC
(in other words: CVBS)

Uupss! I swear that I saw RGB in the DIN connector, but it was my imagination. It happens that the TV was working in RGB indeed, but nothing in the OSD indicates this. OTOH the SCART connector on the 8245 does not say anything about RGB, which is somewhat confusing !

All SCART connectors on MSX computers I know output RGB.
