I think that moving it to google groups temporarly until a recent backup can be found would be a good idea.

Well, a backup has been found, and msxgamesbox is working really hard so we can be online asap, so please be patient and don't say RIP that fast, as we will strike back soon 
As the backup is from months ago, there will be A LOT of lost posts. The worst of it is that users that registered themselves lately will be forced to re-register again ... I apologize for the long offline period and for the inconveniences, I hope this won't happen again...

And another lesson learnt: backup once a day!
Now all you have is an old_archive ^_^

Aw man, that sucks... the wordt nightmare of every webmaster. I hope you can manage to recover quite a bit of data and am sure you will be up & going strong in the near future. Don't let it bring you down! ~sn00t

Working on it, bigger problem than expected (MySQL error 1005 if that rings a bell) which I am really struggling to solve. I have a old backup of Dec 27th but cannot import it. I can't even create new tables or do any SQL query. On what happened... database was found empty of all tables on April 9th... and a suspect 'core' file in the root of the Karoshi forums.
Even with daily backups I think I would have the same problem... (but does not stop me from being more cautious in the future - I'll set up a cron job).
Checking now with host for database backup / restore.

It's back up ... however most recent forum post is December 16th, 2007... sorry about this and as I said before I'll make more frequent backups from now on.
I'm sorry this happened but I don't have a better solution.
