For running most European MSX2 (and up) software, you need 128kB RAM or more. The problem is that almost no Japanese MSX machine has it, but the turboR's do That's why I idd also suggested tR (besides the cool features). Ah well, I'm repeating myself.

Have fun in Akihabara! It was 7 years ago already that I was there...

Take a look at the "junk" shops in the street (I don't remember its name) that runs parallel to Chuo-Dori at Akihabara. I remember seeing a TurboR-ST + a cart. game only for 15000 yens (although it was a bit dusty ). Maybe with a bit of luck you'll be able to find a similar piece of "junk"
Also you can visit SuperPotato, I'm sure that there you'll find some tested MSX/MSX2 machines.

Better check with Ikeda, as he regularly sells those films.

MSX TURBO-R HUNT UPDATE!

Ok, so as I am on summer break from university, I did go to Akihabara today to begin my hunt for an MSX TURBO-R. I went to several shops, but it started to rain and was really hot at the same time, so I was getting a little agitated trying to find MSX stuff. A couple of the shops had some games but no hardware.

Anyway, I made my way to Super Potato, and they had an MSX Corner with quite a few games. They also had some boxed Konami stuff like Snatcher SD behind a glass case, along with a Panasonic MSX2+. I am not sure what model # but it was only 9000YEN or about 80 USD. It said the floppy drive could not be used.

I asked if they had any more MSX computers and they did have a small section that I didn't notice at first. Nothing but about 4 older MSX1/2 computers.

So basically, I need to find a shop that specializes more in MSX goods. In general Super Potato is quite a bit expensive compared to other shops.

I didn't see any things like keyboard film, but I am going to research where to by MSX stuff in Japan. There is probably some type of MSX book that I can pick up that will have a ton of information. The Japanese love to make extremely detailed guides about just about anything you can imagine, and I think I saw an MSX Computer one in the past.

So today, I picked up a Famicom Disk System for my Famicom, but no luck on the MSX. I really want to find one in nice physical condition that has everything working, so it might take some time!
