Thank you very much for letting us know your opinion. It's appreciated!
First off, you are absolutely right that everyone is free to do whatever they like with their belongings. Second, yes, I do think it is better to recycle a cartridge this way than to throw it away.
However, could you estimate the costs of a 'new' cartridge, with FPGA (or ASIC) SCC and it's own box? Rob Hiep already offered some cool-looking sunrise boxes ealier this thread. Like I said, I'm willing to pay more for it |

I'm not really sure about how much cost making a new board. Components should be "cheap" (not really expensive) But the problem is the money needed to start that project (FPGA programmer, FPGAs chips, boards, boxes, labels, etc...) And of course a LOT of hours of work soldering (if we don't make it in a factory), programing a Flasher progam with cool options like OPF, and not a simple ROM loader.
To be honest that was our "next project". Making a Flash cart, that included SCC and FM (for example) in a FPGA.
Estimated price? Hum... maybe 60 euros if there are high demand (not sure about how many, since I don't know exact prices)

IF you're able to create a cart like that I think 60 euro's might even be on the cheap side. Maybe you should get in touch with Rob Hiep and the creator of the SCC-FPGA and talk things over. I'm interested! |

Ok... but right now it is a future project. I would like to finish before MegaFlashROM project (making a better OPF, and selling our cart stock). Then, maybe I'll make it.
Anyway, I think other people can do it. I'm not a hardware specialist
