It depends on a couple of things whether or not games are translated and released through WOOMB. The main issue is: can we get a license to distribute the game outside Japan? If the answer to that is a yes, we check the (potential) popularity of the game (in English) and how much time it would cost to make an English version. If the relation between those to factors is good enough, the game will be translated.

As for Valis II, it's not the easiest game to translate, but the (potential) popularity is high enough. So, there's a chance that an English release through WOOMB will follow.

As for tfh's remark: although I don't think it's appropriate to talk about sales figures here, I don't think there's much against saying that we have been more optimistic about it when we started. Of course sales figures have their influence on motivation as well, but in this case it's not the main point. They aren't bad, but could've been better indeed. But there's a relation between that and our motivation as well. A product like WOOMB has to be marketed, which costs time and energy as well, and as I explained before... We've had too little of that the last couple of months.

The title request/vote thingy could be interesting indeed. As would a donation section by the way. Project EGG grew on that as well: people could donate their original copy of a game for re-release (because we always DO need original copies and not always possess those ).

Hi Rikuse,

Of course we don't expect to see sales figures here. That is Woombs business and not ours Thanks for your explanation though

I'd like to donate an original if I get it back translated, playable on a real MSX (I'd be happy to buy an extra original game for that on eBay ;-)

Hehehe Well, the offer stands! If you find back copies, you know where they must have come from ;-)

I'd expected you'd get the material delivered via D4E or something.

By the way, I think Woomb.net is slightly unclear on what platform it runs on. I guess most people would assume a Windows PC, and that's true (and everything's written in the FAQ), but I've always found Woomb.net a bit confusing as far as that's concerned.
If I look at for example Steam ( http://www.steampowered.com ), its site has a "catchphrase" at the top ("get steam now" with a very clear description) and if you click that you get the details (including system requirements). You might also want to update the system requirements to include Vista (I think I mentioned it here before, but it runs fine as long as the application is launched as administrator, which is common practise for many apps in Vista; however, I can imagine Bazix wants to test such things themselves first.)
