It's probably more the fun in a kind of DoS attack. By automatic downloading a lot of content a lot of hosters will suspend hosting accounts. Probably some Commedore fanatics

Indeed i think it will be a good idea to seperate the PDF/HOWTO's/RESOURCE FILES from the ROM's.
Offer a small picked package of 10 rom's for introduction to the very newscomers. And the whole ROM acrhive should only be accessible after registrating an account on msx.org and at least 1 introduction post?

I'm willing to help with the hosting, i can offer a dedicated server (1Gbps connection), with the OS of your own choice.
Traffic: between 500 and 1000GB month is no problem at all (above that, it would costs a small fee per 500GB)

I can come up with 500Gb on a 100Mb connection. If necesary i can also provide Windows hosting, but i dont have a control panel on that. So linux hosting is more indipendend for me.

Since msxarchive is hosting about 700 MB of docs like manuals and such I have collected and make available through my website it would be very welcome to have it available the whole month. I choose funet to store those files, to make sure they wont disappear when I cant keep them online anymore for whatever reason. And right now I dont have the room to store it on my own space, lots of non-MSX needs also space! And even the MSX material grows every month.

So I would certainly be grateful if there is a less vulnerable location for the MSX docs!

When will the site be back up ? I'm looking for the collection of msx 1 images you see and theres no other source for them

Well, I could ask OmegaMSX what the exact status is at the moment right now. I think he banned some more IP's and certain (download-)clients to stop leeching.
