Konami seem te be having a nice, lucrative business with their games for mobile phones. Because of this, I wonder if they will ever (re)release games for MSXPLAYer, especially since MSXPLAYer will be running on mobile phones in the future as well.

Although we are in no position of telling Konami what they should do, I'm more than curious to hear what you - forum visitors - think about this.

I can almost *hear* you thinking 'SD Snatcher 2, SD Snatcher 2, please let there be SD Snatcher 2' ^_^.

It's all about the money. If any new msx device gets a big marketshare, and there are some extra bucks to earn, konami surely will co-operate.

Look at the X-Box and PC: before Metal Gear Solid we never saw any Konami title on PC, except Gradius I&II for windows95 (and that title was only released in Japan).

Konami will join any commercially interesting project in the long run. But their Pioneer days are over. Shareholders you know.

Uhm, there're so many sequel movies which didn't have the succes of the first part.. would SD snatcher II be a good idea anyway?

If it were another company like capcom (that supports all platforms, the best example is gp32 versions of street fighter), it would be, at least, a bit possible. But I think that konami wouldn't never program again for msx.... I don't think so. But, if msx revival grows more and more, and ASCII is able to show any comercial viability of msx standart... perhaps.. then, it would be possible...

Of course it is all about money, but one of the things I'm thinking of is Konami selling some games to MSX Association/ASCII so it can be used on the second MSX Magazine for instance. Or Konami allowing MSX association to sell old Konami MSX games on the MSX Server. Since they already developed those games, there's no costs in that...
